Gaw | Poe LLP is experienced at handling federal and California state trials concerning complicated civil matters. For all matters, our philosophy is not to mindlessly engage in endless delay tactics, discovery and motion practice that drive up costs to the client. Rather, we shepherd cases through the pre-trial process in a cost-effective manner with the specific aim of optimizing our clients’ chances on summary judgment and at trial. We are prepared to serve as lead trial counsel or to provide support for existing trial teams.

Appellate Litigation

Gaw | Poe LLP has substantial expertise in state and federal appellate work. We don’t employ a “kitchen sink” approach to appellate litigation, but instead focus on the core issues that we believe are at the heart of our clients’ cases and advance the overall narrative of their lawsuits. We are happy to handle an appeal following an adverse trial court ruling or to advise trial counsel on perfecting a record for a possible appeal.

Business Litigation

We represent plaintiffs and defendants in breach of contract actions, partnership disputes, fraud claims and breach of fiduciary duty actions. In particular, we have considerable experience in litigating contracts involving sophisticated remuneration schemes. We also represent plaintiffs and defendants in unfair competition actions, tortious interference claims, false advertising lawsuits, defamation and trade libel claims.

Intellectual Property Litigation

We represent plaintiffs and defendants in trademark and copyright infringement actions, as well as misappropriation of likeness lawsuits.  We have particular expertise in the field of counterfeit marks.
