Joshua M. Ko is an experienced trial lawyer and a litigator who also has substantial experience in bankruptcy law, corporate law, probate law, real estate law and tax law. Fluent in written and conversational Korean, Mr. Ko has been the general U.S. counsel for various Korean companies whose primary communications were conducted in Korean. In addition, Mr. Ko has represented clients in general commercial litigation, real estate litigation, trade secrets litigation, employment litigation, securities litigation, derivative actions and internal investigations. Mr. Ko has also advised clients in international commerce and led merger and acquisitions (M&A), utilizing his expertise in U.S. transactional law.
Mr. Ko began his legal career after graduating from Western State University College of Law, where he was a recipient for the Trustee Scholarship that paid his full tuition for all three years. While at Western State, he was a case note editor of the Law Review, and Mr. Ko also served as an extern for Senior Justice Warren J. Fergusson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. After graduating from Western State, Mr. Ko received a LL. M. in taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Representative engagements include:
- U.S. counsel for English Academy of Korea
- U.S. counsel for major food manufacturer in Korea that supplies product to Costco and Sam’s Club
- U.S. counsel for university in Korea with U.S. satellite campuses
- U.S. counsel for major garment manufacturer and wholesaler with over $200M in annual revenue
- Trial counsel in personal injury lawsuit brought by student against school district for debilitating injuries suffered due to negligent supervision by teachers. Case settled for $10 million.
- Innovation Ventures v. Pittsburg Wholesale, et al. Represented a large grocery wholesaler against trademark infringement claims brought by the makers of 5-Hour Energy, where the wholesaler had unknowingly acquired an inventory of counterfeit product that was indistinguishable from the authentic product. Reached early settlement with the client paying less to the plaintiff than what it received in settlement funds from the co-defendant.
